Exhibition - National Geographic, Photo Ark – Joël Sartore
Animal diversity in photos
This 'Photo Ark' exhibition, which is open until 26 March 2023, will bring you face-to-face with the animal kingdom and cause you to question the role we have to play in safeguarding animals, notably those at risk of extinction.
This theme is magnificently illustrated by the internationally renowned photographer, Joel Sartore. He works for National Geographic and has devoted a large part of his life to photographing animals (12,000 to date) to establish a directory of global biodiversity which he calls PHOTO ARK.
His aim is to photograph and record the 20,000 species present in zoos and animal sanctuaries around the world. These various photos allow him to showcase the entire range of animal diversity. Discover his work through this new temporary exhibition of exceptionally beautiful photographs.
This essential testimonial for scientists and researchers is also a plea to defend our biodiversity, which must be preserved.
When a species becomes extinct, our ecosystem is disrupted.
A highly emotional moment at Stavelot Abbey!
