Exhibition - The Women of the Rothschild Family
This exhibition invites you into the world of the Rothschild family
The Boverie museum, in partnership with the Louvre, is presenting The women of the Rothschild family: Collectors, patrons and donors par excellence until 26 February 2023. The Boverie museum is inaugurating the theme for the 2022–2023 season – collections – with this exhibition, which renews a partnership that was launched in 2016.
You will be immersed in the world of the Rothschild family. This legendary family has gradually become synonymous with success since the 19th century. However, little-known personalities and an unexpected heritage lie behind this surname. This exhibition offers a unique point of view and will highlight the unique personalities of the women in the family.
These women, who have been overlooked in the history of art, were collectors, builders, patrons and heiresses and made significant contributions to the enrichment of historical heritage and collections in French museums through their generous donations and legacies. The exhibition retraces the tastes and personalities of nine exceptional women over an itinerary of more than 2,000 m². They played an important role in the history of art, history, society and the life of artists in their time.
