Until 11 January 2026, Stavelot Abbey is hosting a spectacular exhibition that will delight film buffs and graphic art lovers alike. This new exhibition showcases the work of Belgian illustrator and poster artist Laurent Durieux, renowned worldwide for his reinterpretations of famous film posters.
In the prestigious setting of this thousand-year-old abbey, visitors will be able to admire iconic posters revisited with a sense of detail and an inimitable retro-futuristic aesthetic. From ‘Jaws’ to ‘The Godfather’ and ‘The Shining’ to ‘Metropolis’, each of Durieux’s works is an invitation to rediscover cinema classics in a completely new light.
In total, more than 150 posters spread over 550 m² will reveal the artist’s fascinating world, including several large immersive formats that will allow visitors to explore every detail of his work, while the educational approach developed highlights his creative process and graphic choices.
