From 9 October 2026 to 29 March 2027, La Boverie will host “L’Impressionnisme, une histoire belge”, a major exhibition highlighting Belgium's significant contribution to the development of the Impressionist movement. Bringing together around 150 masterpieces for the first time, the exhibition explores how Belgian artists reinterpreted light, colour and landscape alongside the great French masters of Impressionism.
Drawn from prestigious Belgian and international collections, the artworks engage in a dialogue throughout a rich and captivating exhibition itinerary. Paintings by James Ensor, Théo Van Rysselberghe, Émile Claus and Anna Boch are displayed alongside works by Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir and Alfred Sisley, offering visitors a fresh perspective on the artistic exchanges that shaped the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
