To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Surrealism, La Boverie is hosting a major exhibition dedicated to Paul Delvaux, a major figure of 20th-century Belgian painting, from 4 October.
This exhibition promises to be exceptional because it will showcase masterpieces that have not been seen or brought together in many years. It is the result of a collaboration between Tempora and the Fondation Paul Delvaux, who have teamed up for the occasion.
This exhibition, which is titled ‘The worlds of Paul Delvaux’, will allow visitors to discover him through his different worlds, by way of paintings, drawings and other objects that are associated with his work or the work of other artists. This event adopts a unique approach, and also reveals little-known facets of this artist, who is often known for his paintings of women and train stations.
The goal is to take a fresh look at a timeless body of work, by positioning the work of Paul Delvaux in Surrealism and, more broadly, in the history of art.
