This fort became a necropolis for almost 350 servicemen buried under the rubble

Fort Loncin, erected as a National Necropolis, is the most famous of the "Brialmont" forts.

On 15 August 1914, under the blows of the Big Bertha, one of its two powder magazines exploded, crushing 350 of its defenders under its rubble.

Fort Loncin is the only one to have kept its 1914 armament.

In addition to a visit to the fort, which offers a breathtaking view of the crater of the explosion and a moving visit to the crypt, the adjoining museum presents a successful combination of models and collector's items, some of which are exceptional.

The fort also has a scenic tour allowing visitors to relive the last moments of the garrison and the explosion of the fort.
