Belgium’s biggest nature reserve!

In the heart of the largest nature reserve in Belgium, discover this exceptional nature and its unique biotopes through various guided and themed walks, or via its superb permanent exhibition, called "Fania”.

Also recognized as the oldest nature park in Belgium, this preserved site, which offers surreal, strange, wonderful aspects according to the seasons, is divided into six natural areas, including four in Wallonia. It covers a square formed by the cities of Eupen, Montjoie (Monschau), Malmedy, and Spa. To the north west is the Avant-Pays Fagnard, which is dominated by dairy cattle breeding and forests, while to the south lies the Haute Eifel with its wooded hills and the picturesque Our valley.

The prestigious Hautes Fagnes, which stretches over some 5,000 hectares in total, have the peculiarity of resembling a huge sponge with their layer of peat, which can be up to eight meters thick.

Discover them by walking along the walkways and marked trails, which will lead you safely through this beautiful natural landscape that displays its charms in any season.
