High Fen Nature Park House
Belgium’s biggest nature reserve!
At the heart of the country’s largest nature reserve, the Maison du Parc – Botrange is the ideal starting point for groups wishing to explore the High Fens – Eifel Nature Park. This remarkable area, stretching from the dams and lakes of La Gileppe and La Vesdre to the Our Valley via the High Fens Nature Reserve, offers unique landscapes whose colours and atmospheres change with the seasons.
Considered the oldest nature reserve in Belgium, this unspoilt site consists of six natural areas, four of which are in Wallonia, and provides an exceptional environment to explore in complete safety, thanks in particular to the signposted trails.
The Maison du Parc is open seven days a week and offers groups a dedicated reception area, brochures and maps to help them organise their visits. Several activities can be booked, such as guided walks in the Fens, horse-drawn carriage rides, guided tours of the FANIA museum and the Explor Game ‘La Route maudite’ (The Cursed Road), available from January.
For an enjoyable meal, the Bistrot de Botrange offers local dishes and produce. On site, a shop rounds off the visit with nature books, local products, maps and souvenirs. The Maison du Parc also has a small medicinal plant garden and offers free parking, including a bicycle area (with a repair station and charging points) certified ‘Bienvenue Vélo’ (Bicycles Welcome), that’s ideal for parking securely.
