Les Roses de Daniel
Let yourself be transported by the colours and fragrances of the garden created by Daniel
If you’re looking for a unique site to visit with a group, don’t miss Les Roses de Daniel, a true conservatory garden nestled at the foot of the High Fens nature reserve in Bellevaux!
The story began 30 years ago with Daniel Schmitz and his team of enthusiasts, who have built up this very special and charming world over the seasons. The family tradition continues through Bernard, who maintains the passion started by his brother Daniel. The conservatory garden and nursery bring together one of the world’s largest collections of romantic roses.
Come and visit them to discover the fabulous charm of old English and Australian roses. The richness of their colours and the diversity of their fragrances will seduce you and take you on a journey through more than five centuries of history.
Adjacent to the garden, the nursery offers one of the widest selections of roses all year round, with over 1,000 different varieties. These are grown without pesticides, using only homeopathy and aromatherapy. They include Daniel’s creations, which are highly prized for their resistance to frost and disease.
Finally, in 2017, a permaculture vegetable garden was created. Around fifty vegetables and melliferous flowers are grown here. They specialise in growing heirloom tomatoes, with 75 varieties to suit every colour and taste.
