Daughter of the Meuse, fortress and listed fountain

Crossed by the Meuse and the Hoyoux, Huy is one of the most popular destinations in the province of Liège. With a rich architectural and historical heritage, this city also organizes various cultural and sporting events.

Discover its “4 wonders”

The Meuse city is known for “its 4 wonders”, which it is very proud of: Li Bassinia, a fountain located in the Grand-Place of Huy; Li Rondia, the rose window of the Collegiate Church of Notre-Dame; Li Tchestia, the castle of the Prince Bishops (demolished in 1717 and replaced by the fort in 1818), and Li Pontia, the old bridge, which was destroyed during the war and today replaced by Baudouin bridge. With a short walk, you can learn about the history of Huy and discover these 4 sites, which are located close to one another.

Discover the city by strolling through its most charming districts

Whether you walk through its picturesque streets, admiring the medieval buildings that plunge you into a past steeped in history, or take advantage of the pedestrianized area to stroll through the various shops, the walk will be an ideal way to discover this city. Don't forget to take a moment to relax on one of the terraces in the superb Grand Place

Board the Val Mosan for a cruise along the Meuse

Another more original but equally pleasant option for discovering the city and its region from the Meuse is to take a cruise aboard the Val Mosan. Between May and September, this tourist boat takes you for an hour-long river ride to discover the natural and industrial landscapes of the Huy region, which will unveil all of their secrets to you.

Go back to the time of the knights by visiting Jehay castle

A jewel of Walloon heritage, Jehay castle, a multi-century cultural and tourist site awaits you just minutes from Huy! Classified as an exceptional heritage of Wallonia, this impressive construction and its park will delight nature lovers, as well as art fans, with its many contemporary exhibitions.

Visit the Burdinale-Mehaigne nature park located in Hesbaye

Offering varied and contrasting landscapes, this nature park, which is one of only three in the province of Liège, is made up of forest ecosystems, wetlands, meadows, valley bottoms, and extensive agricultural and forested areas, which shelter a great variety of fauna and flora. There are many walking and cycling routes on offer.
