DescriptionWelcome to the Fiery City! A monumental and futuristic station, guided tours of the Guillemins/Boverie neighbourhoods and the historic heart of the city, a cruise and tasting of the Liège waffle and a typical alcohol are on the programme.

Let yourself be charmed by the history, culture, and local produce of Liège for a day.

Start your day by discovering every aspect of the monumental and futuristic Liège-Guillemins TGV station, where your guide will await you. Designed by Santiago Calatrava, this structure, which is often considered as one of the most beautiful stations in Europe, will appeal to you with is unique architecture.

Then set off to discover the Guillemins and Boverie neighbourhoods which showcase the best of the city’s modernity. Impressive infrastructure designed by world-renowned architects has sprung up in recent years. You’ll marvel before the TGV station, the Finance Tower, or the Design Station, not to mention, the magnificent Boverie park that you can reach by crossing the impressive ‘La Belle Liégeoise’ footbridge which offers a unique view over the Meuse river and the Fiery City.

You’ll have the opportunity to visit La Boverie museum which is located in a former palace built for the Liège World Expo in 1905. This unmissable cultural site in Liège houses the Liège Museum of Fine Arts and regularly presents international exhibitions.

Before lunch, take a cruise along the Meuse, a unique opportunity to discover the Fiery City from an original perspective.

For lunch, you’ll enjoy a gastronomic interlude in a restaurant in the centre of Liège such as ‘As Ouhès’, a good opportunity to taste local gastronomic specialities, such as the famous Liège meatballs.

In the afternoon you’ll learn more about Liège through a visit to the historical heart of the city: the Saint-Barthélemy collegiate church on Rue Hors-Château with its listed heritage and cul-de-sacs, the impressive Bueren Mountain, Place du Marché and its Perron, or the town hall and palace of the prince-bishops.

Finish the day by tasting two Liège specialities, namely the Liège waffle and Pékèt, a typical regional alcohol.
