Nature & culture in Spa country
- 2 days
- 1 night
DescriptionSpa-Francorchamps and gourmet route! Between heritage and the past, Guillaume Apollinaire and the largest natural reserve in Belgium. Breathe it in!
Explore the east of the province of Liège over two days by discovering the cantons in the east and the Spa region. These two major tourist hubs abound with attractive and extremely varied offers, ranging from nature to gastronomy, as well as heritage, hydrotherapy, and motor sports!
The first day of your adventure will focus on the eastern cantons with an organized walk in the High Fens, the oldest and largest natural park in Belgium. This consists of forest trails and wild heaths. Next, sample Montenau cured meats and the famous Ardennes ham, which is smoked using a beech-wood fire, before ending the day with a visit to the Malmundarium, a former monastery of Malmedy, which has become a space for memory, art, history, and culture.
All you need to do is take a quick trip to enjoy the activities that are planned during this second day, which will take place in the Spa region.
After a visit to the world-famous city, which is the birthplace of thermalism but also renowned for its casino, deemed to be the oldest in the world, you will have the opportunity to wander in the paddocks of the circuit of Spa-Francorchamps, a legendary track. This journey will end with a visit to Stavelot Abbey. Founded in the 7th century, it hosts three tourist attractions: the Museum of the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps, the Guillaume Apollinaire Museum, and the Historical Museum of the Principality of Stavelot-Malmedy.
Duration: 2 days/1 night.
